Some people might think we are a little ahead of ourselves, with Windows 7 being released barely a month ago, Windows 8 projected for sometime in 2012, and here to explore is a forum dedicated to Windows 9. Those of us dedicated to Windows, and YES some of us even to Microsoft, will work diligently to find the least little scrap of information on Windows 9 and post it here for you our members. Likewise if any of you find out anything, Please post it, it might just be something those of us in the trade can build on and start digging and uncover more. I know between now and when Windows 9 is released probably 2015-2016 of course this depends on when Windows 8 is actually released, reporting will get slow and maybe even nonexistant at times. However we will do our best keeping your curiosity spiking over Windows 9 http://www.windows9news.info/
Good to know we may be two steps ahead, but the world will end before and windows 9 may be an abacus. Now talking serious: there are many rumors about windows 8 and 9 like it will be 128bit OS and so on, we must keep an eye on it. Good post.
People who create these sites do so just to get good google rankings. Fortunately Google has started crapping on those kinda sites recently.
A bit silly to make a site for this right now. You should at least wait until Windows 8 is at release candidate stage.
I am from the future. Windows 8 was not adopted by business in much the same way Vista was not in your time. It was too "flashy" as in more geared towards the home user. Business wanted more of a thin client Windows and went with that keeping cost down. 2013 turned out to be a hox. Windows 9 is currently in RC. I will let you know how it goes in a few months.
Yea right I got news for you I'm from the future too and Microsoft scrapped Windows after 2012. They introduced Microsoft Linux running on a 128 bit kernel.
Just fyi, Microsoft are planning to scrap Windows eventually. Not to say they won't be developing any more MS proprietary OSes, but they won't be Windows. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midori_(operating_system) Seems like this will be replacing Windows, after all they're talking about how to migrate Windows usage to Midori starting with Windows.Next (aka Windows 8) and working it's way through other Windows releases... I doubt that'll be the final name though, doesn't sound nearly as appearing. It'll probably have a completely different architecture, and be a massive jump in the way that it works. Probably focusing on enhanced security and stability. They're going to focus on enhanced security by totally sandboxing applications. I don't know how this will end up for power users who like apps that can streamline or otherwise modify their system (I'm sure there'll be something possible) but for the majority of cases I can only see this as a great idea, means that a Microsoft product won't succumb to viruses like Windows has been known to.
I heard of Midori, even if it materializes I doubt that they will rename it. Scrapping established brand names like "Windows" is not something to be taken lightly. It's all in the marketing, see what happened to the renamed Vista SP3 aka Windows 7.
I argued that at first, but they can't just keep to one brand "just because it sells". If it's a great OS, OEMs will want to use it, so most laptops will come preinstalled with it anyway. I doubt people will care too much - in fact most people who buy a computer probably don't even know what OS they're using and just think "whatever comes installed on my PC"
