Does anyone have an English windows 95 ISO? I need the CD edition but every one I have found so far is in Russian or Swedish. It is an exotic request but I will be forever grateful.

    Thanks in Advance,

Alright, so I use a boot disk to start win95 setup. I mount my win95 ISO and write

    R:\ setup

It says that it will perform a "routine system check" and told me to press enter, I did.

The check states that a certain amount of hard disk space is required to run setup, I assume it means that it thinks I don't have enough space on my vhd.

I know that win95 can't handle hdds larger than 32gb but I put a 2GB hdd with the FAT storage system.

    Where did I go wrong?
Has anyone had any success installing win95 on a VM (VMware or VB?)?

Try running fdisk from your bootfloppy, whipe all partitions, create a new one and format it in fat. Maybe that works.

Was anyone being able to install vmware's vga driver? It always says it can't be installed and it gives instructions to do it manually. After manual install it asks for a reboot, and after reboot it still isn't successfully installed.

Boot to the floppy image on the VFD with the ISO of the Win95 on the VCD drive. You need to use the fdisk on the bootdisk to create a promary DOS partition, then format the partition with fdisk. You can then install the OS by D:/setup fro the bootdisk.

I have just installed the Win 95 to be sure and it was all done in about 20 min...no problems. If you are still having issues, maybe I can post some screenshots in a bit....

That should make it easier, one would hope that M$ can at least fully supports its own OS in VPC...

(20th post so that I can post screenshots)
So how do I format the primary DOS partition after I have already made it?

    VBox worked flawless..See pics...

You need to boot to the floppy, run the insall from win95 disk, it will go to A> prompt..type fdisk, create primary DOS partition and restart-

Hit option 2 again (install from 95 CD) and it will go to prompt...type fdisk, option 4 in first fdisk screen should allow you to view partitions..see that itis created..

Exit fdisk to A> prompt..type after A>format c: and you should see progress

Restart to boot disk..option 2 to install from cd, defaults to A> prompt..type D:

just for confirm...type at prompt D>dir to see that you have the cd accessed

    Type at D>setup

    Should start install.....
