Hey guys, Has anyone got or herd of a 'PID Checker' for Windows 9x keys ? I've got few here which don't seem to match my disks
Hi wvv000, Thanks for the reply. My problem isn't that I don't have or can't find CD Keys/PID's. Its that the ones I have on my spreadsheet don't seem to match my disks. Office and other software seems fine, but the Windows PID's aren't right. I was hoping to find a checker like on XP and above, as its alot quicker than Installing and Re-Installing
In that era---there is no such thing, I still keep my answer, you can judge the serial number usage according to your version, of course, virtual machine is also a good choice, 9x version is not complicated , as long as the channel version, or disk number, many serial numbers can be used You can also upload the original file of your unknown version serial number, everyone can help you mark the version, and the rest is very simple.
Yes it can be done however the solution does require a bit of work. The pidgen.dll file from Windows 9x era are not designed to be used in Windows XP and later OS's. It can be accomplished by editing a Windows 2K/XP pidgen.dll file with the BINK data from the Windows 9x pidgen.dll file. I have created a basic tool based on other source code that check product keys using pidgen.dll files.
