You validate online I suggest you try Windows Loader instead, it will work much better. I havent used HAL yet myself so Im not sure why this occurs, probably beacuse it modifies systemfiles (If it does).
Doesnt seem to work well with Vista either maybe as a user on a swedish forum gets the same message Windows Loader however works great!
