Just used one of the new "Keys" to update windows 7 starter to Home premium. All went well with the Toshiba mini NB305. Flashed my Bios to new update and so far so good. This morning I noticed windows wanted to download and install KB971033. Checked the online PID site and it told me the Toshiba Key was valid. Do I trust the update process.? Do not want to rebuild this(Do not have a backup yet) and if it De-activates my windows can I use a restore point to get it back.
    Thanks,

It's optional thus there's no need to install it unless you have to validate to become activated

Also it can always be uninstalled

There's no need to install it. It can't increase the security of your windows so don't take such risk if you are not 100% sure of your key.

If you back it up then yes you can restore a backup but I would advise you to make an image backup, do not rely on system restore dude.
