I would like to display windows defender icon in the tray, even old Windows defender in Vista gave a option to do this, why can't we with Windows 8
Unfortunatly it doesn´t work in win 8, and i doubt it makes sense running such tools in compatibility-mode.
that's a silly answer . It is part of the operating system. Go into Services and browse to bottom: Windows Defender Service nekomata: the best you can do is to go into control panel/system and security and drag the Windows Firewall onto the desktop as an icon. You can drag it onto the start bar as well. I know it's not defender, but that's why I wrote "the best you can do"
Defender itsself wasn´t meant. Tried the provided tool to manage it from system-tray, and it refused installing in win 8. So no silly content in my post, only an answer to post before .- Regards
