    Heyho,

How Microsoft does numbering their files? Like is there a specific theme of the dots?
For example I have here 2 files:

    upload_2023-10-26_16-47-41.png

As you can see the older version (15/10/2011) has a higher number (6.05.2715.5512).
How that comes? My guess is, that the third number (2600 - 2715) means a different windows build?
Like the last number (5512 - 6161) probably is the patch? When I look on the file size, it also looks like its a further developed, probably?
(Background: Left is a WinXP Media Center, right is WinXP Embedded Extended Update, I'm wondering, if the Update really superseeds the original MCE file)

So, according to this idea, its better to take the older version, because it has a higher build number, so in the end its the actual more up to date file?
Thanks for answer in advance! <3
