    The Windows 10 1709 Apps ISO SW_DVD5_NTRL_Win_10_1709_32_64_ARM64_MultiLang_App_Update_X21-50436.ISO contains the below two appx packages which enables the MPEG2 and HEVC playback on WMP.

    Microsoft.MPEG2VideoExtension_8wekyb3d8bbwe.x64.appx
    Microsoft.MPEG2VideoExtension_8wekyb3d8bbwe.x64.xml
    Microsoft.HEVCVideoExtension_8wekyb3d8bbwe.x64.appx
    Microsoft.HEVCVideoExtension_8wekyb3d8bbwe.x64.xml

    Do I need to go to the windows app store and install Microsoft MPEG2Video Extension and HEVC Video Extension after the windows creators fall update?

    That does work, but ONLY for the user. Is there any way to install it for machine (so any user can use it?)

    Tried with DISM /Online /Add-ProvisionedAppxPackage
    which gave success, but there app is nowhere to be found to actually run it...

    Also does not survive sysprep...

    Fortunately solution from abbodi1406 in this post
    in combination with nsudoC allows me to install DVD_player-windows10.0-kb3106246-x64.msi on demand (I do not care, but that is what my users wanted)

    I guess let the customer download vlc instead, it's free though :)

    I want to preload VLC app to my Windows 10 image, do you know how to get the XML license file for using with DISM command?

    yep our dudette VLC, WINAMP and POTPLAYER works like a charm when running on Builds 1607 ( for all that not know is obvious 2015/2016 LTSB) trust me :):D:p simply forget Windows Store

    I tried to use DISM /Add-ProvisioningPackage command to deploy the Windows DVD Player appx package with license file to a Windows 10 syspreped image, but it will be removed before the OS first run. Is there any way to prevent this?

    If it's being added into the 1803 image or later, the switch "/region:all" or similar should be used so it loads all of the languages needed into the image.

    I am guessing no one has worked out how to update the DVD player app to a current version is that right ? I am on version 3.6.1329 but the store has version 10.17091.1038. Not sure what fixes are in it but seems like a lot of versions have gone by

    If someone has a license.xml for offline integration I could install the new one. I think old license.xml does not work as new one starts, and blinks off. I too, would like a fix.
