So stay with me here guys, I know this is kind of a weird question.

So yesterday at work I came across a PC that was running a Windows 8.1 Embedded OS (Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Enterprise to be exact) and upon further inspection (services.msc, gpedit.msc, dxdiag, etc), it seemed to me like this OS is actually the same (to the naked eye) as Windows 8.1 Pro but without much of the fluff that comes with 8.1 Pro (the slew of Modern UI apps, etc).

    So my question is:

Would this OS be suited for high end gaming? Would it have problems running DirectX 11.1 and Mantle games?

I've always had a thing for slim/clean/fat free OSes, so this would be a somewhat solid option.

    Thanks!.

Embedded Industry is different than earlier Customizable Embedded Standard, it's basically the same as Client edition enhanced with Lockdown Features

Could you please elaborate quite a bit the part: "same as Client edition enhanced with Lockdown Features", Please?

Yeah I would also like to know more about this, if possible.

What do you mean by earlier Customizable Embedded Standard?
