I liked the ability to have two file windows open within a single instance of the file manager. What I do now is open two separate instances of the file manager. But I seldom do that having adapted to the "new" style. If what you wanting had been done, I'd suspect it'd be common knowledge and readily available all over the web.
Thanks. This does not address my query. What I am after is to NOT use the file manager that is included natively in every post-XP version of windows. I am hoping there is some way to shoe-horn in a copy of XP's explorer.exe; that is what I asked. Thanks.
I know it doesn't address your point, it addresses how I dealt with your point years ago. Basically because, "If what you wanting had been done, I'd suspect it'd be common knowledge and readily available all over the web." is what I believe is the situation.
You may yet come across it. I never did and after a long while the "need" to find it just faded away.
Yup, I second that; My biggest gripe about the new(er) versions of Windblow$ is how they are systematically destroying the Windows Explorer (ofc., along with everything else ); even the file&folder number and size(s) are gone, from the bottom bar (replaced, by some crippled info). At times, it's difficult to comprehend, how.. Ah, nvm. I'd need it, also, but it's impossible to have. :-/ Edit: ! :-/ Easily the worst interface change, like, ever
