Whenever i browse through control panel , the windows explorer always stopped working. I checked the event viewer , each and everytime it says the faulting module is DUI70.dll

My background is running MSN , Firefox and AVG.

Anyone facing same or similar issue? Is it a known problem since the RC days ?

    Thanks.

    :(

Hi , did you work on that issue ?

or just leave it as it is , and probably wait for windows updates ?

    1) Try sfc /scannow
    2) Update your video card drivers
    3) Unfortunately, reinstall.

the ""windows explorer has stopped working" happens frequently in 64 bit
though it doesnt happen in 32 bit...
    probably bug even in rtm
hope microsoft release a fix for this...

Unfortunately it's the same for me. Guess it is a problem with the RTM.

Hasn't happened to me at all and I use x64.

Should probably start naming your specs to find out what you guys have in common.

safe mode is alright , no crashes.
i removed the nvidia driver(the latest version from nvidia site) , now seemed ok.

    General Spec:
    intel X3350
    dfi x48-t2r
    corsair 2 x 2gb pc8500
    evga 8800 gts
    win7 ultimate rtm 64bit

it makes me wonder if it is the nvidia driver who screw it up. likely.

I had a similar problem with one of the early release candidates. It's probably a control panel applet that is causing the problem. Certain non Microsoft programs, Sound and or Video drivers install a CPL applet, like Suns Java VM
for example. If the manufacturer hasn't worked out all the bugs for Windows 7 yet, it could be causing Explorer to crash. In my case, it was a Vista/Realtek driver/cpl which was causing the problem. Realtek hadn't released a Win 7 driver at the time, and their cpl applet was causing the problem.
