Is there a time limit for the free upgrade to Windows 10? If, say, in a years time someone with a Win 7 or 8 machine wants to do a clean install of Win 10 will they still be able to activate it with their embedded Windows BIOS key - or at some point in the future do you think Microsoft will stop this free upgrade??
You're right but things change all the time so I just wanted to check nothing's changed.... You can never say never with Microsoft..
I'm pretty sure you pay if you buy it with a computer. It's just for current systems with 7/8/8.1, just Home and Pro from like prior version and not for Enterprise.
hm.. as i understand it, people can ùpgrade`[? ] from w7 or w8 for free until july 29th 2016. if they still want to do that after that date, they pay.. it would be an interesting scenario if a working w10 install would expire on that date..
Once you have upgraded you get a digital entitlement that does not expire. You just have to do an upgrade before July ?? 2016
