Dears, Is there a way to stay with the current version of windows live messenger build 14 and not to forcely update to version 2011 build 15? It always popsup for an update. Any ideas for a patch or a workaround many thanks! Regards, Saad
Solved Never mind I followed thisand solved it 1. * 1 Download and install the resource editing program. * 2 Open the "Windows Live" folder. Within this folder is the "Messenger" folder; open it. * 3 Right-click on the "msnmsgr.exe" file in this folder and click "Copy to folder" to make another copy of this file. * 4 Open "msnmsgr.exe" in the resource editing program. Find where it says "Version Info -> 1 -> 1033" on the left side of the screen. * 5 Find where it says Value "ProductVersion" on the right. The value will read "8.5.1302." Change this to "15.4.3502.0922" * 6 Click "Compile Script." * 7 Save the file and quit the resource editing program. The next time you open Windows Live Messenger, the update alert will not appear. 5
