so recently wmp12 my player of choice has stopped working with ffdshow, happened right after I updated the divx web player (odd), and now I can't get it to load anymore, it just uses the media foundation codecs again, I've tried the Win7DSFilterTweaker tool but it won't disable the dll's anymore, so I went and disabled them myself, then played a video and still no ffdshow, but the videos continue to play, wtf? i've killed the codecs, why are they still playing? what am I missing? I renamed the following; MP4SDECD.DLL MP43DECD.DLL MPG4DECD.DLL are there anymore? I loaded up graphstudio and it says ffdshow is now rendering video, but why isn't wmp12 doing it? I did try divx8 (the codec) and although it works I miss the features and you can't force YV12 decoding, i use that on ffdshow to get rid of jagged pixels. Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum area but i'm stumped as to why I can't get rid of the wmp12 codecs anymore or disable them
so i have found out, as you said it's found some error's, lots of old powerdvd codec references, v9 & v10, this may take some time lol..forgot I updated to pdvd11 around the same time ffdshow broke. I'll see how it goes.
cheers man problem solved, man, I thought I was going to be stuck using divx...now back to watching upsampled videos again!! good times
