What software are you using? I love WMM Vista, just got Windows 7, do not like WLMM. Am desperately trying to figure out how to get the WMM onto my new laptop so I can use it instead of the WLMM. I have WMM files from my previous laptop I need to be able to open and I need the transition options and the storyboard feature of WMM. Help!

I am trying to get WMM Vista from my previous laptop onto my new laptop Windows 7.
I have "x" number of WMM files from my Vista Computer that I want to be able to open on the new "7" laptop. I don't like WLMM (what a regression!) Why? I'm assuming I can't download anything from windows to get ths job done. What will really work?

I'm in the same boat as beethoven

I have a new laptop with W7 on it and would like to get Movie Maker on it.
I do not wish to use live.
This laptop is for my daughter to do school work on and I just figured it would have Movie Maker on it. Her Spanish class has projects that require MM.
She has to use my XP machine instead of her Christmas present.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Lex
PS: I have read the articles by PapaJohn on the MM forum.

Thanks clsA, I have 64 bit seven on the new laptop.
I downloaded x64, is that the right one?
Also I have seen where some folks say to copy the Movie Maker file from Vista Program files and put it in seven. Then register some dll files.
They say the file is around 30 Megs. Will this 8.5 meg exe give me the full blown Movie Maker program? Or is this an installer to move from vista to a post 7 upgrade?
I don't want to sound paranoid but this is a brand new machine and I don't want to be restoring it after a week of use.
Thanks for the reply and in advance for any advice from anyone on this board.

Anyone have a current link for installer to download

So I'm looking for the links above to download and move the windows vista movie maker 6.0 over to my windows 7 computer... Looks like original authors and links are no longer active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried the installer, but it says it is not compatible with the version of Windows I am running. I uninstalled Live WMM and tried again, no luck. Help!
