Keys are already known, they are listed as Server 2008 R2 Foundation OEM:SLP Keys (ServerWinFoundation), i don't have and don't have interest in Windows MultiPoint Server 2011 Premium, but if anyone can confirm these keys are really working on Windows MultiPoint Server 2011 Premium that would be great! (have some doubts about that )
Please post the output of slmgr.vbs -dlv if you think they key is working. I doubt it would work though.
Normally the keys only work on the edition they're intended for, so I too find it a little odd as to why they would work on this. Also if the OS is identified as ServerWinFoundation then the latest version of the loader should work.
Ok, ISO created and verified. All download links worked well. Will install on test server in the morning.
??? Code: FILE: EN-US_WMS_PREM_EVAL_InstallDVD.iso CRC32: 3A4E5B23 MD5: 695E8837174C5279AF7F6B0E6844941A SHA-1: DF176E97D23B4DFBFFDC7111BFA550E16935CCFD Code: FILE: en_windows_multipoint_server_2011_premium_x64_dvd_645139.iso CRC32: 3DAC2356 MD5: 98078CC0C1EDD462D54589946946B4BD SHA-1: 67A8936F456D0E253177769851BAACCCE9DBB9F1
Ok, after further review and fresh eyes, the ISO I have on file is: Code: FILE: en_windows_multipoint_server_2011_premium_x64_dvd_645139.iso CRC32: 3DAC2356 MD5: 98078CC0C1EDD462D54589946946B4BD SHA-1: 67A8936F456D0E253177769851BAACCCE9DBB9F1 So I must already have MSDN . It was late when I looked at this yesterday.
So the key works, but it changes the license edition from ServerEmbeddedSolution to ServerWinFoundation. I wonder if that will affect some of the MultiPoint Server functionality. FWIW, here's the info from pkeyconfig.xrm-ms with the valid key types for ServerEmbeddedSolution (excluding GVLK and CSVLK). Looks like it will take MAKs for Web and HPC Server as well: Code: EditionId : ServerEmbeddedSolution ProductDescription : Multipoint Server Retail ProductKeyType : Retail EditionId : ServerEmbeddedSolution ProductDescription : ServerEmbeddedSolution Retail ProductKeyType : Retail EditionId : ServerEmbeddedSolution;ServerHPC;ServerWeb ProductDescription : Server 2008 R2 Web and CC Volume:MAK (MAK_A) ProductKeyType : Volume:MAK EditionId : ServerEmbeddedSolution;ServerHPC;ServerWeb ProductDescription : Server 2008 R2 SP1 Web and CC Volume:MAK (MAK_A) ProductKeyType : Volume:MAK EditionId : ServerEmbeddedSolution ProductDescription : Multipoint Server OEM:NONSLP ProductKeyType : OEM:NONSLP EditionId : ServerEmbeddedSolution ProductDescription : Multipoint Server OEM:SLP ProductKeyType : OEM:SLP
I've got OS installed / proceeding to activate do you still want this output or is that a mute point at this juncture
Windows 7 Loader XE in the video shows most of what slmgr.vbs would show, but it would still be interesting to see what edition would be reported by slmgr, whether it shows as MultiPoint Server or Server Foundation. I'm surprised to see that it accepts the key at all, and I wonder if it would affect any of the MultiPoint features.
