Exactly 3 identical machines purchased at the same time. Bios moded on all of them perfectly with SLIC 2.1 and WIN 7 installed in 2 and Vista in only one. All OEM activated. Between the 2 machines with WIN 7 one has got ASUS slic and the other Dell. On command prompt slmgr -dlv says clearly that they are OEM channel and activated BUT in one an extra two lines appear (the one with Dell SLIC) one line says Windows Rearm Count:3 and then the other line Trusted Time: xxxxxxxxxxx What could this be? I think I have used the same RTM WIN 7 disc (I have two RTM that I downloaded but cannot recall when used which or if used same for both WIN 7 Machines). The one with Dell SLIC has been going for more than 8 months and today I realized this difference. The machine with Vista is ok. ???????
@venu There are NO blacklisted Dell keys! @BIOSNOIDEA The rearm count value is there by default (Should be on every system, default is 4, after initial activation is should read 3) Trusted Time: xxxxxxxxxxx is the date/time you executed the -dlv command
But the point of this thread is to tell how many rearms are after install and/or use of activation tool which for me is always 4. So you could still use cmd to test to share with us...lol
I get the same thing on a desktop modded with Asus and Asus key. Windows 7 Ultimate. It is activated and has passed wat. Has been up and running activated for 3 months. Might have to do with having the WAT update installed. as the trusted time listed is the time that slmgr -dlk was run. I don't think you have a problem.
When running Daz or ODIN WAT never took away any rearms ever for me! To answer this question people need to check rearms right after install of windows 7 RTM and then after use of Daz loader or ODIN and then after unistall of those activation concepts
Hi Timesurfer. It so happened that I read this post and while I was installing windows on a friend's laptop. I checked the rearm count prior to using Daz's loader and the count is 4. After installing the loader the remaining rearm count is now 3. I then checked 2 other computers here and both had 3 remaining rearms. One has a bios mod and the other uses Daz's 1.8 rc5, neither was rearmed after initial install and activation. Why do you have 4 rearms even after activation - loader or otherwise? Just wondering what is the norm? Thanks.
Really, what does it matter??? 3 is normal, 4 is not... MS even could decide to disable systems with rearm count of 4 as this is abnormal
Yep it doesn't matter cause Daz and ODIN work off activation concept which only requires 0 rearms with min 1 day left...lol And with InfinteRearm4 you can just get back full 4 rearms anytime you want so again it doesn't matter unless you are using my trial concept with 0 rearms and 1 day left...lol @bluealien I wouldn't say it's normal cause I've heard both 3 and 4 rearms from everybody. So lets do poll...lol
You would have 3 left after using a loader because it's no longer counting down. The second you uninstall the loader then the countdown will continue, that simple
All windows editions had 4 rearms once. One was used by Microsoft while sysprepping the install before capturing it to the install.wim image on the dvd. At least that's what I think. So when slipstreaming vista (or 7) using the "install vista, install sp1, install sp2, sysprep and imagex" method you'll end up with a 2 rearm dvd I think.
