Sweet. No need to even register to get a key
Yes Server 2008 FTW
Considering the difficulties in getting and downloading a PID and .ISO for R2.
It makes you wonder if Windows 7 and Server 2008 are made by the same company.
LOL too true, if we didn't have to use those China proxies I bet everyone in here would have over 50 keys each
I am still going to wait on this R2 I never trust MS on their betas, since they basically ignored everyone on Vista and look how that came out.
hmm I am wondering if regular Server 08 keys will work on this one, so when it's released we can automatically activate
I don't think so; 2003 R2 requires different keys as well, and other than 2003 R2 the 2008 R2 release actually is a new OS release (and not just added features).
Also, The Windows 7 client beta uses generic keys too; you just get one of those if you register for the beta download .
Apparently the serverstandard key has run out of activations.
They were nice enough on the phone though once I got through to the Bangalore support person, got me activated just fine.
Phone Method Working
Call for activation working great
Automated system will go thru the process and will fail. You will then be put thru to speak with a Microsft Representative (ok !)
