Considering the difficulties in getting and downloading a PID and .ISO for R2. It makes you wonder if Windows 7 and Server 2008 are made by the same company.
LOL too true, if we didn't have to use those China proxies I bet everyone in here would have over 50 keys each I am still going to wait on this R2 I never trust MS on their betas, since they basically ignored everyone on Vista and look how that came out.

I don't think so; 2003 R2 requires different keys as well, and other than 2003 R2 the 2008 R2 release actually is a new OS release (and not just added features). Also, The Windows 7 client beta uses generic keys too; you just get one of those if you register for the beta download .
Apparently the serverstandard key has run out of activations. They were nice enough on the phone though once I got through to the Bangalore support person, got me activated just fine.
