Official Dell PowerEdge 2950/1950 BIOS 2.6.1 is SLIC 2.1

Anyway, there are NOT known R2 OEM SLP keys yet, so at the moment you can not get offline activation

You might try to find a working KMS

    Hello Sebus,

I just call dell, and they already start to sold Windows Server 2008 R2, so i thing that we will have soon the OEM SLP key no ? especially when we know that the price for Windows Server 2008 R2 web edition is only 190 euros !

just need to wait that someone post here the SLP key (or the best an iso copy of the windows 2008 R2 CD installation)

How do you know what version of Slic you have in your Bios? Is there a util you can run to extract this information?

I know there is a util you can use to see if you have a SLIC bios..but what about the version? Is it 2.0 or 2.1 or what :)

Why? You only need the key, there will be nothing different about the CD comparing to MS download

    Hello:

i'm trying to update the Bios firmware of my Dell poweredge 2950ii,

i have used both versions of the firmware 2.6.1 and 2.7.0 from dell webpage and none of those works. here are the link to the files Wich are exe files, i dont find .bin files for bios in the dell webpage, except for running linux operting system.

    Code:
    downloads.dell.com/bios/PE2950-020601C.exe
    Code:
    downloads.dell.com/bios/PE2950-020700C.exe
and when i test the slic version with the slic toolkit v3.2, it doesen't recognize the slic 2.1 version.

I have read the threads in which people says that updating with last version 2.6.1 (in 2009) it becomes slic 2.1, also i see that someone has leave a link to a bin file called DELL_PE_SC3.bin, i dont know if this bin file is a complete bios mod or only a part:

    Code:
    forums.mydigitallife.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=1080&d=1246908889
it seems that it's only a part of the bios, becouse the size is small = 374 bytes.

When i open the Dump Tolkit and i open the bin file DELL_PE_SC3 with the button "open ext file", it becomes correct and valid slic 2.1, but i don't know how to use this bin file to mod the complete bios, may be is with another software.

can anyone help me to mod to slic 2.1 this server?.

the tools i have in this moment are:

    Dump Toolkit software.
    Bios update in exe format
    the bin file: DELL_PE_SC3.bin

So how can i do it?

    Thank's ahead.
