I know. So folks, like me, who were googling this can find it. Windows Server Essentials is a version of WS. That is the topic of that thread, until I took it in another direction. Windows Server Essentials Experience is a different animal, and stopped being included in Windows Server after WS 2016.

So, did I get it right ? 1. Clean install Server 2022 from DVD/USB onto a new system. 2. On 1st boot into the OS, copy "WSEE-Setup.ps1" and "Essentials.wim" to a place of your choice. 3. Run "WSEE-Setup.ps1" and it will install Essentials Dashboard like in Server 2016 4. Done Correct ? Will the "Connector Software" still work on the client computers ?
I did exactly the steps you listed, and it worked! The key is to copy and install it on the first boot, immediately on reaching the desktop. I'm testing it with WS 2022 on a virtual machine. Next weekend I plan to test the "Connector software" and see if that works too. I'll report back.
Not yet, stay tuned. I'm testing it on Virtual Machines right now, alomg with WS 2022. I'll be testing both on a real PC this coming week. Stay tuned!!
This is right. That is script for capturing WSEE files different languages if somebody wants. I self use only English. When using that script you shoud use mounted VHD drive, because script will also include file security permissions. I use WIM bacause it's easier to use with file security info. Capturing and restoring file permissions correctly will garantee that WSEE works as it should. One note for users using Installer: Windows Server Feature upgrades might break WSEE feature, and Installer script wont work/restore after you have once installed it. I have tested this only with Clean Server. This will need some modifications in the future..
Update, the fellow who was nice enough to create than make this script available on Github has stopped supporting it. Sad face. "This project has been archived because I no longer use Windows Server." "One note for users using Installer: Windows Server Feature upgrades might break WSEE feature, and Installer script wont work/restore after you have once installed it. Ahh bummers, also I never used that script on a productive server, I was hoping to see this thing alive. Whyever M$ was choosing to kill our beloved Dashboard...
