Hi, I downloaded Windows Standard Embedded 7 RC from TPB and was wondering if there exists a tool to kill trial/expiration. Or maybe someone has other tips/tricks for this OS? Please note that this is Embedded and not a normal version. Best regards, H
Anyone knows how to kill the expiration? This product was formerly known as Windows Embedded Standard 2011.
That was the first thing I tried. Then I applied Chew-wga on top. Back then, I didn't know about slmgr -dlv (which shows "evaluation end date"). So I would set the clock forward a year, and leave the computer running to find out if it had worked.
Why would you want this ? Apparently this is M$ attempt to get into the market where linux has become widespread.
I can't get it to install on a virtual machine and yea it might go into the territory of linux.... However Linux is pure awesomeness compared to this... I keep getting a answer problem or something like that in Vmware...
A friend of mine uses XP Embedded on HD digital sign installations and large stadium/storefront signs (all told he has somewhere between 200 and 300 units in the field). Its relatively fast booting compared to a full OS install, but not instant-on by any stretch of the imagination. He said that 7 Embedded was a pig compared to its XP-based predecessor.
How would it go without the support winsxs gives to applications using various versions of windows dlls etc ? - just curious having never tried this.
