Hello @GOD666 - Maybe what you're saying about Windows 10 becoming a "pay-to-play" OS will come true some day. Maybe. But two things are going to have to happen first. 1.) Windows 10 itself will have to become a much better product than it is now. Under the skin it's probably the best and most secure version of Windows that's ever been offered to the public, but appearance-wise it's a cartoon clown compared to Windows 7 or even Windows XP. Every time I see that damned UAC Prompt it makes me want to puke. It looks like it was designed by a third grader. Previous versions of Windows looked like a finished and polished product assembled by professionals rather than a work in progress patched together by a bunch of amateurs. I think the problem is that no one, not even Satya Nadella himself, has a clear vision of what Windows 10 really should be or what it should look like. In trying to make it appeal to everyone, it's become more like an appliance, and they've definitely lost something in the process. 2.) They will have to wait until support for Windows 7 ends on January 14, 2020. Why? Because despite being on the market for two years, and despite being offered for free back in July 2015 to the bulk of existing Windows users, the current market share of Windows 10 stands at almost 28%, about half that of Windows 7, which still stands at just under 49%. If Microsoft announced tomorrow that Windows 10 will become a subscription service, all of those Windows 7 users will stay right where they are now and will ride Windows 7 right to the bitter end, because of the fact it's still free. And when they get off that ride, they'll probably start looking at alternatives like Linux.
Compared to Windows 7, I like the looks, and feel of 10 much better. This is all personal opinion though. So, if you really want cartoonish, just take a look at XP! LOL
I am used to Windows 10 now, but still run 2 machines with Windows 7 pro and 1 with Vista Ultimate, I still love the Dream Scene wallpaper and some of the other extras
