Can you confirm if a MAK activated machine retains it's mak-tivation via Windows To Go ?

What about Disk Drive Multiplication towers, I saw one at the store the other day and thought of Windows To Go.

If you use a different HDD as the original Windows To Go HDD or the Source HDD, you'll have to re-activate Windows 8 again.

Even if you build that Windows To Go workspace, you're forced to activate it, After that you could use that workspace (as MS call it), if it is on an USB Storage, on most computers to run Windows 8. You'll need to have an working Internet connection and also may need to download some additional drivers for that machine you connected the workspace drive to.

I have one of that external USB Windows To Go drives and tested on more than 10 machines. works quite well and speed is good at USB 3 but suffers a bit on USB 2.

I like the idea of being able to build a portable version of Windows 8 natively from inside windows to a USB drive without using third party apps ect.. because of the way Windows Activation works im sure that is why they left it for Enterprise via a KMS server and not Pro . just my .02 cents. I still give props to "moderate" for doing this though. Thanks. :)

This isn't working for me on Server 2012. It says something about fveapi.dll missing, so I copied all of the fv*.dll files from my Windows 8 Pro install over to Server 2012, and then I click Windows To Go and it does nothing. Flashes the hourglass, but nothing comes up.

The only two places offering this patch is either 404 or blocked due too much traffic on dropbox. Anyone have a newer one for 8.1?
