Yes, the updates still continue to fail. Here's my results from the troubleshooter.

If you have tried these things and this is a new instal and your still getting the error code keep hitting "Retry" It will eventually go through. I did a clean install last month and had the same problem. It took about 10 "Retries" to get through. Now it is fine.

    Also, a reboot is advisable.

I tried running that, I got "ERROR: This package is already installed." I will try hitting Retry in Windows Update like you suggested, many times. I'll report back.

Update: The problem continues to happen. Check attachments.

net stop wuauserv then net start wuauserv then stop again.. now install sept rollup wu.krelay.de/en and the security then monthly rollup.. likely have to net stop wuauserv after each install.. reboot 2 times and check updates.

Last night i've installed a clean win 7 install, used simplix to update it (just to test), and abbodi1406's fix, all went fine..

If you have to do all sorts of normally not needed workarounds there is something wrong with your windows install.

Enthousiast, I'll follow the steps you did and do a fresh install. What Win7 ISO did you use? And what did you use for activation? And when did you activate after installing Windows?

before you click install the rollup.. wuauserv must be stopped for fast popup "do you want to install this update" or it will say searching for updates forever..
do net stop wuauserv and net start wuauserv during the install of the rollup (error msg will show just close it) and retry second time.. worked for me always

    install .net 4.6.1

First of all let us know where you got your Win7 install disk????? Is it clean and not modified????
Make sure it is a clean Win7 disk
Does not matter what ISO you use as long as it is clean. That is exactly what Enthousiast would have used!!
    He probably used Daz Loader
Does not matter when you activate on a clean install. After install you have 30 days to activate and will receive updates anyway.

Normally i use the simplix update pack to offline integrate the bulk of updates, then i install it in audit mode, use abbodi1406's "WU Long Scan" solution, install dotnet461+ LP & updates and sysprep/capture it.

I activate it with DAZ' Windows Loader v2.2.2 (for starter/homebasic/homepremium/pro/ultimate) on MBR installs and KMS_VL_ALL 10 (by abbodi1406) on UEFI installs (Pro/Enterprise (enterprise can only be activated by KMS on both, eufi and bios installs)). Or i use the Multi_OEM/RETAIL project files on genuine OEM systems.
