I know there must be a stickied topic about it but didn't see any for now, I get an error on Windows update it doesn't want to search and doesn't want to install the update it found, error message all the time.
If they are available, I'm interested in language packs, especially a french pack, the ones from Windows 7 don't work (I got a special DVD with all the language packs for Windows 7 from a friend)
Hum, they are not .exe files they are simply lp.cab files that can be installed with the control panel utility.
They don't exist to my knowledge they are distributed only via Windows Update or on a special DVD that I got my hands on but the system still don't want them, say they aren't correct but they work, I've tested them in a Win7 virtual machine.
OK, in Chinese language packs, I know they have .exe files for download. That's why I just try to help...
Not the same, maybe they are special files for chinese systems, I know they're not exactly the same there. Anyway, I can live with an english Windows 8 without problems, I would only want to see the updates working, for now it tells me there's no updates available, should I see something there ???
The update for Windows defender always fail for me so I gave up, anyway its in a sandbox in Vmware so nothing to be worried about, and I don't have Office installed on this virtual machine for now, I don't need it but will probably install Office XP and 2003 just to test they are still working on Windows 8. I got my old Winamp 2.91 version working, I hate the latest version of it. Now its movie time so will probably come back tomorrow night.
Updates seem to be working fine here! I have Microsoft Security Essentials installed which updates OK , I also see updates for Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse .. Intellitype and Intellipoint 8.1 which I haven't installed yet but they are in the list. I seem to remember I had Nvidia drivers there too , but I've installed different drivers since then.

I remembered after installing 7989 the first update was Definition Update for Windows Defender, and it never installed... After installing Office 14 32 bit and MSE the the others appeared... No worries though because I'm sure a new build would leak soon and my 7989 is working very nice with no problems... PS: When I plugged in my Microsoft Intellimouse for the first time, it downloaded and installed the Microsoft Mouse software and my MSE updates just fine, but those updates listed above will not install...
Correct me if I am wrong, but i think the language packs were only available for download via Windows Update in the Ultimate version of Windows 7. I don't know how you might be able to get access to those files via Windows Update, because it may be broken and it would not list those language options. But i do know that on a certain Wzor site (not to promote warez on MDL) there is a link for ISOs (x86 and x64) with different languages, maybe this is what you are looking for (they may contain the .exe files and not .cab) if you have a fast connection, download it and see... Get with the times, Office 2010 is the sh*t Also foobar2000 is THE ultimate audio player...I switched when it was 0.83 or something like that and I never switched back!
