Does anyone know what the best procedure is for installing updates into a Windows 8.1 Update 1 image before sysprep-ing it and capturing into a WIM for deployment?

It appears that with Windows 8.1 Microsoft broke Windows Update functionality in Audit Mode, so one has to go through the OOBE before Windows Updates are possible. This makes it difficult to make a clean image, and leaves a stale user profile (or Administrator profile) in the image.

I'm coming directly from Windows 7, reluctantly moving to Windows 8.1 for my new laptop due to driver support, so I'm a bit behind the times. What is the best practice in this situation? What do you do?
