Have you tried cleaning up your temp folder or extracting to different path.

When I'm trying to uninstall the installed version from the "programs and features" list, the same error is appearing......
    Now?????????????????????????????????
I think this is the reason for the update problem...The previous version is not being failed to be removed......

Did you try to unistall all .Net (4 is the most suspected component) and the cleanup the system with CCleaner and tried again?

All my problems with MU came from that!

To reset Windows Update I do this:
    Stop Windows Update service
    Delete SoftwareDistribution folder.
    It often works!
