    I am running Windows 8.1 x86 and applied all updates and it seems like everything took in the update. The exception is that the version of Windows does not appear in the Start screen.
    Can someone help please to get it to appear?
    Thank you:confused:

    He did not ask how to boot to desktop, he asked why it does not show Windows version on the Start Screen... whatever he meant with that :g:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
    "DisplayVersion"=dword:00000001

    Watermark for everyone.

    On right hand side of the desktop?

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP
    change the value of PaintDesktopVersion from (0) to (1)
