Yes it is lol I had first hand experience with its endless bugs, even MS admit it was terrible Did you read the interview with Balmer recently? He was asked what he regets in his time with MS, he said Vista
I never had any bigger problems with Vista, since 2007. Using it still on older PCs as I have five licenses.
lol I think it's disputed because it acted differently on different hardware, big time, so some people have error free experience, and others have nothing but problems My biggest issue was with a 3G Dongle, I would fresh install Vista, install my dongle which was my only connection at the time, use the PC all day, shutdown at night with a working PC, boot up in the morning and different services and files were missing resulting in the dongle not having any way to connect to the net again, nothing you could do would repair the problem apart from another fresh install of Vista That was one of many problems I had
The biggest issue was hardware/drivers. I was lucky, you weren't. On Windows 7, now. Not too excited about 8.x, though.
I moved to Windows 7 as soon as it started leaking, the 3G problem was still there originally but I told MS about it who seemed very interested and got me to run different programs for them and send them loads of files, which was fun over 3G, few leaks later and they'd fixed it Win 7 is a great solid OS, Win 8 seems ok now, not sure about 8.1 yet, Im still having problems atm, need to do a clean install as upgrades are generally always buggy
Why'd one use Vista considering its hardware requirements are same as Windows 7 but uses more resources needlessly (something Windows 8 is good at).
Even 80 year old non-tech people know Vista sucks ass, I had a customer repeatedly call me back to repair his Vista machine, on the 3rd time I started feeling sorry for him forking out ££ each time, and installed Windows 7 for him instead, I've never had to go back
