If you are running the unpacksdc.exe under XP put the downloaded .sdc and unpacksdc.exe in "C:\Documents and Settings\current-user". Then open command prompt and type "unpacksdc file-name.sdc C:" without the quotes. The converted file should be in a folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\current-user". If this doesn't work for you the downloaded .sdc is corrupt.
C:\Documents and Settings\current-user because in XP that is the default location for command prompt so it would be easier to unpack.
unpacksdc 1.1 would still work for files that are dated before august 2009. for sdc files after that date, the encryption has been updated. so if you're unpacking a xp sdc for example, likelyhood it'll still work
Dear Sir. As you explain, could you please advice how to unpack the file that dated after august 2009 ?
I was talking about the unpacksdc.exe put it into c:\Windows\System32 the correct place for system files not C:\Documents and Settings\current-user
Look at the dates they were published: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 - CD1 (English) Date Published (UTC): 9/8/2004 500 PM and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 (English) - CD1 Date Published (UTC): 8/26/2004 6:13:00 PM. See how close the dates are. If you need a Mediacenter slp key just pm me.
First, thank you for sharing the links. I had my Windows XP Pro (no service packs) CD destroyed by my new DVD burner. MS won't send me a new one so it was ssuggested by many to come here for a good copy. I downloaded the enn version of XP pro with SP3 and I downloaded the unpacksdc v1.1 and extracted it to my users folder (I'm using Win 7 Ult x64 to extract/burn) without errors. but when I use win 7 burning program it says my ISO is invalid. Is this an issue with win 7 burning program? I have used it successfully for other ISO images in the past. also, how do I find the hash program to verify the download isn't corrupt. I didn't see a link to it in the post. Thanks for any help -=Mark=-
Thanks for the link. It failed the SHA-1 check. I redownloaded the file, but this time downloaded the VL version. What is the difference betweek the VL and regular version? Will the VL version accept my product key from my original XP Pro without service packs? Or does my key only work with matching SP disks? Thanks -=Mark=-
VL is for big companies and schools that have a software assurance with Microsoft and it doesn't need to activate. Regular Retail is for the general public and needs to activate. Regular Oem SLP is for computer manufactors. Oem COA needs to activate and can only be used on one computer. So you need the correct iso for the type key you have.
so do I need a non-sp cd? and where would I find one? or will the non VL version be fine if even SP3? -=Mark=-
