Ok i was wondering is it possible to setup network drives in Windows XP Home edition but only where certain users on the network will be able to use it. i already have all of the drives networked and mapped on each computer but what i want to do is add certain permissions where only the 3 computers i have setup can access those drives and if any1 else connects to the network they cannot access it. even setting a password on network drives will work too. Plz any help will be appreciated. Its just the place where we have our store has free wireless fro everyone but i dont want other ppl on the network to be able to access our files so like b4 any help would be apprieciated

check out the above post. you would want to do the opposite of it, meaning disable remote login with blank password. use the DisableBlankPasswords.reg provided in the download link.

technically by doing this, it prevents accounts with blank passwords from accessing your computer; be it network shares or remote logons. this should also prompt a user and password logon before accessing the share. you might want to boot to safe mode from your xp home system, as you'll only see the advanced sharing tab there and not in normal mode. then edit your drive shares accordingly
