    Hello guys,
    I am sorry if this question is irrelevant to this section of the forum. I have a desktop Dell Optiplex 330 with these specs:
    Intel E2180, 2G of Ram, 80G SATA1 HDD, AMD Radeon HD 6670 video card.
    Which of the following operating system would yield better performance to run offline for programming embedded system and run application such as MPLABX and KiCad?
    * windows xp professional sp3 -32bits
    * windows 7 professional -32 or 64
    * windows 7 ultimate- 32 or 64
    thanks,

    I would agree, offline and using XP would give you more leverage for MPLABX since you are well above minimum requirements. and KiCad I'm not even sure if it supports Win7?
