There is absolutely no reason not to be using the XP SP3 disks, the keys will work. XP didn't come good until SP2, as others have said. Also, XP SP0 won't even run some programs and drivers that work with later SP versions. By now, XP RTM is so full of security holes it is beyond the point of being ridiculous. It is far better to run a copy of Windows XP that is SP3 to begin with, rather than update to it. I am talking about original disks (not sure if XP came in original disks with SP3, but definitely at least SP2). The reason for this is there is no point having the pre-SP backup files and mess, although they can be removed, and time spent updating. Probably the major point is the setup is different, and is far more compatible. I am talking about original SP2/SP3 disks NOT user integrated versions. It's the same with Windows 7, you should always use an original SP disk and NOT a user integrated one (especially after they become available). Of course, this is if they are available. There may not be an original SP2 Win 7 iso for example, in which case a recognised user integrated disk should be ok. So, regardless of anything else, whatever you do with these computers you should have SP3 and have it updated anyway, so what's the point on RTM disks?
Which version do you want? I have el_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_vl_x14-73988 if it is any use.
