Windows XP:SP4

    hey ppls. What about SP4, who cares about SP4, do you guys think SP4 will release or SP3 is the last one...

    after SP3 have more then 100 updates..

    I highly doubt they will release another service pack. Reason being, if they do, then they will have to extend support for XP. Google the MS support schedule. Ever time they release a SP, they have to extend support.

    Given that Microsoft is doing everything in its power to get Enterprise customers to transition to Windows 7, releasing XP SP4 would seem to be a step backwards. Microsoft wants badly to get XP out of the picture; a service pack is often viewed as a upgrade or improvement. If it does happen, SP4 will likely be nothing but a compilation of already published updates ... but why bother?

    i`m working with much PC`s so i dont want to update 1 by 1 everytime... :(

    If you work with many PCs then you need WSUS (logical)

    I wish they'd do an official SP3 Update Rollup Pack, just to integrate all the changes like the Windows 2000 SP4 UR they did.

    If you have many computer, you need to think about WSUS or create a system image with them integrated.

    i dont think sp4 is development. Most changes in sp is updates and hotfixes so they have just to integrate maybe..
