The Windows XP setup is divided into two phases, one is the text mode and the second is the gui mode. After finishing the text mode setup, the pc restarts automatically and then enters in the gui part. But it promts u to "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD" again. U have to ignore this as it leads u the text mode phase again. The second phase is started from the hdd. Hope it will solve ur problem....
jccordero49 When you see "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD", reboot-ctrl+alt+del, enter the bios and change the boot sequence to boot from the hard-drive you're installing the os on, or do not press any key while that message appears. Some computers boot off the cd/dvd regardless.
The OP just needs not to hit a key after the initial phase and restart. It is a bit confusing at first..the message is consistent from the first boot from CD. Once the initial phase starts, do not hit a key to continue..it will restart itself.
