well...my friend bought a new laptop some months ago with pre-installed windows 8.1. he is now fed up of it and wants me to install windows 7 ultimate. since his laptop has windows 8.1 with slic 2.2 then can we install windows7 with DAZ loader. will DAZ loader accept slic 2.2? or i have to artificially insert slic 2.1 through DAZ loader. please explain. can i uncheck "ignore existing slic table" option in DAZ loader???

If the computer came with Win8.1 then the drive will be UEFI and Daz loader will not work. You will have to format the HD to MBR. Instructions can be found in the readme that comes with the loader.

What makes you say it has slic 2.2? Version 2.2 slics are used with some Windows Server editions, but not Windows 8.x.

As mentioned above... disable UEFI in BIOS in favor of "legacy" and reformat to MBR, then DAZ Loader will work w/Win7.
Just make sure that laptop has Win7 drivers available before you start the procedure....
