well....the problem is in my windows7 x86 system is that when i open "my computer" then volume labels do not appear. it shows only drive letters i.e. c, d, e, f. i named c drive as windows7, d drive as my backup, e drive as multimedia. interestingly when i go to Disk Management it shows all volume labels as i named them. and if i use any external boot able media like acronis disk director or mini xp by hiren's boot CD or Ubuntu 14.4 it also shows volume labels as I named them. please help
Have you try: right click on the Drive Letter chose Properties General beside the drive icon type the ID in command filed click Apply That should work! Forget: You need to have Admin Right's!!
Since the windows7 was released, i have been using it as administrator. and yes...I tried as you suggested but no to avail....actually I did every possible action to get my drives names but failed
