Windwos Update Error: Downloading updates 97% stuck

    Hi Friends:

    I am trying to do a clean installation for Windows 10 v1607 and I have the following error:

    Updates are available

    - Commutative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3189866)

    Downloading updates 97%

    I can't advance for this point. Can you help me please?

    That's today's update-just reboot:D

    It's just trying to download, not install, reboot try again

    You may want to run in Admin Cmd Prompt sfc /scannow
    press enter on keyboard just to make sure everything OK:D

    make sure u dont have something running in the back ground like a antivirus they cause all kinds of trouble disable it.... re boot your box and start WU again.

    Hi dobbelina:

    Thanks for your help...problem solved...download the KB3189866 by MSU Catalog, installed it, reboot and then installed the rest of the updates.

    Don't see an error there... Looks like just a slow download... :(
    I know a Windows Update error when I see one... That actually is too common lately...

    Quite often, I see the download routine hang, then jumps to 100 percent and is OK... Typical with 8.1... Dunno about 10...

    They may have pulled KB3189866? I had several failures and now my system says up to date even though it has not installed. Looking around the internet a lot of people were have similar issues

    Do not confuse the mess, make your machines as they must be.
    I (we) tested a number of different machines, does not have absolutely no problems.
    Not needed to scream, if the problem in You.

    and my pc stuck on 95% something wrong with KB3189866,can someone tell how can i reset windows update ?

    Done, manually downloaded the update, solved.
