Well done, freddie-o! Thanks for creating the topic.

I fully recommend Win10XPE, it would be great to see some MDL users, who have never tried to create their own "emergency" USB, try this excellent tool by @chrisr.

Just give it a go and let us know what you think. Maybe others can learn from your findings...

I just came around this project and find it interesting. Short took a look at the Home Page of this project and a question come up: "Is it possible to use this app to create also a so-called Lite Version of Windows 10?" like the MSMG ToolKit?

As I'm at work right now, I didn't have the time to dig into that Project. It would be fine if I could some more info. Thanks a lot!

Sorry I wouldn't know--never even crossed my mind. I've only tested WinPE SE, and then Win10XPE, when it came out, and which I am using now. I just build a WinPE ISO--nothing advanced.

Thanks for the answer. I'll need a bit time to take a closer look on that Product to see WHAT all could be done with it.

Nope, that's not possible. It "only" (ahem..) builds the most advanced and useful PE available today.

Dont' even try to use the PE builder for that ("WinLite"), @pisthai, I see a long discussion ahead, going nowhere :)

But why don't you just download XPE and give it a try? If @chrisr did his job right (and I think he has done for many years), building Win10XPE should only take 15 minutes for a somewhat advanced user as you are...

As we've said here on MDL before, users here seem to be more interested in PE from a "user"'s perspective than a developer's point of view, so please be the "user" in this scenario, build the PE and let us know...

    Hi,
Is there a way to get custom video resolution for Win10XPE ?
My screen is 16/9 and would like to boot Win10XPE or configure to get 1600x900 (16/9).
I can only choose between native 1920x1080 or 1024x768 (4/3). I have some trouble to read native resolution.
Using Windows 10 and Nvidia drivers I have all choices.
    Thanks

Did you use a standard build, or did you copy your video drivers to the special drivers folder available in the Win10XPE builder?

Well, yes, Nvidea drivers are notorious for their large size. For me personally, it would not be worth the trouble (and bigger boot.wim/ longer boot time) to have better resolution in PE. I believe there are some "minimal" packages available somewhere, but I don't know where (maybe others know).

You could also try one of those "Driver grabber" utilities, to see how many files are captured in that case, maybe you will end up with some "minimal package" that way, that can be added to PE. (Again, others might know better ways to capture drivers from a full Windows install, I believe Powershell can do it quite easily as well).
Sorry I can't be more helpful, but my personal PEs are bare-bones nowadays (no Windows explorer/ desktop), usually no need for extra drivers.
