Is there a program to delete some entries in this folder its eating up my small ssd drive ,cheers........
That command only applies to systems where the Service Pack was installed. On systems where Windows already came with Service Pack 1 (assuming its Windows 7), that command will do nothing. The command only removed the RTM backup files.
works for me on my three ssd's for windows 7 ultimate sp1 x64 & and WDP 8 X64 ,gained an average of 2.5 gb on each ssd
That sounds about right but like I said, only applicable where you had RTM and SP1 was installed System restore points can take up a lot of space if it is enabled, same with temporary files. Do a complete clean, removing files and uninstall programs you don't want, and maybe even install some programs that you do not need on the SSD on a mechanical drive. Run chkdsk on the drive (it can be done in Windows in read-only mode, which is fine unless there are errors)! and if there are errors, run again with a boot time scan. If it is good, go to the command prompt and type: Code: fsutil usn deletejournal /d c:\ which can free up space on the drive. Only do that if you know the drive is in good health etc. The amount of space gained depends on the usage of the drive. Then defrag
i have windows 7 ultimate x64 and i see that my WINSXS has 7GB !!! how can i reduce it or remove something from that i use cleaner from MS everythig is okb also windows update backups i dont have any SP1 backup files on disc
