Today in Asus Web I see a new bios update -1402- for P5K SE ( Update LAN Option ROM). Two month ago I modded succssefully bios 1104 with AmiTool to slic 2.1 1º)WORTH it a new mod. And if it the case, must I reflash first to the original 1402 and then with the modded 1402. 2º)When I saw the slic log of 1402 modded bios there was a new line that I didn´t remenber the previous time: "Existing SLIC in 1B deleted" Does it mean that Asus insert a Slic table in new bios realeases? I used Ami Tool 1.32, SSV3 method.
"Because it is the newest" is never a good reason to flash a new bios, usually popular with the NOOB "new must be better" fallacy.. If you are running well with current, and do not need any upgrades, you should not flash the newest.
Thanks, and I agree, and yes I know if something works, doesn´t change; but always is better ask the alternatives . What about the second point or question?
In addition - I have checked the SLIC in the new ASUS bios but unfortunately - still 2.0. No 2.1 yet.
I agree but if the motherboard is quite new and there is a new bios then there would be a point to upgrade the bios as in such cases the new bios quite often than not include many stability and other fixes. This is a general scenario i posted for others who might read, though i don't think this applies to the op
...there are always rare exceptions to the rule... I don't think that this instance is one of them though.
How do you guys now which SLIC is in the Bios? I Have flashed the newest Maximus II Formula Bios (2202)...where can i look which SLIC is in there??? Or is there no SLIC table present in original Asus Roms?
