It's not a review it's a program info with some false information in it. No you don't, you can just click away the popup and use it without limitations. Winrar is actually one of the few programs which "tolerates" warez. It does not actively implement lots of anti-crack methods, which means old and leaked key files on the internet also work (which basically then only hides the popup and writes the "licensed" information, other than that there are no changes). This is for portable reasons only, it does not create a .ini file if the program was installed. I'm not sure why you put a versions tag in the title, most what you described fits for every WinRAR version.

Did it ever ruin an archive on you? To me, WinRAR is "Industrial strength" code, designed for mission critical applications. I've used it for many years, and never had a problem with it. What more can you say about a "tried and true" app like WinRAR.
