I have a 2560x1440 monitor but Windows recommends 3840x2160. I cannot ignore it because it shows me slightly blurred font. This happens using a DisplayPort to HDMI cable with the AMD iGPU. It doesn't happen on another system where i use the Intel iGPU. It also doesn't happen if I use a normal HDMI cable. The problem is that the monitor already has another PC plugged in and it has 3 ports (1 DP + 2 HDMI), so I need the passive adapter. I'm just not sure why Windows detects the wrong resolution. My guess is a bug in the AMD iGPU drivers.

This is interesting... With just one monitor plugged in, Windows shows a 2nd monitor that doesn't exist.
