I am on what 2011 right now but I'm thinking about moving to use 2016 or full was 2016. I'm not sure if this would help or hurt my needs though so I thought I would ask here. 1. I plan to use windows seven boxes around my house for WMC but I also want to make sure that I will be able to backup my win 7 machines. Will I lose any functionality with WSE 2016 in terms of how it integrates with my server? 2. The primary role of the server will be to serve files to programs like emby and WMC. How well does WSE work as a media server? 3. Im not sure which media feature I will lose if I switch but I'm guessing windows media player will go and I will no longer be able to stream media from the launchpad like I can with what 2011. Is this correct? The biggest advantage i see in moving is storage spaces, and long term support. This move will be on a dreamspark liscenced. I appreciate any input I can get and thanks.
