Thank you very much! A mate on this forum has sent me an xdelta patch for the WINDOWS.8.PROFESSIONAL.RTM.X64.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT: forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/36077-i-read-windows-8-is-on-msdn-now?p=616282&viewfull=1#post616282 LNW
If you don't want to run the delta, you can simply overwrite the following 32-byte sequence with zeroes in a hex editor (to go from WZOR to MSDN): Code: 52 51 2E AA 0C CE 27 D5 A5 AF 9D 96 CD 53 82 13 84 B8 D9 22 B6 94 58 F1 68 5B 4E A9 20 4A A7 AA
Code: xdelta3.0z.x86-64.exe -d -s 9200.16384.120725-1247_x64frev_Enterprise_VL_HRM_CENA_X64FREV_EN-US_DVD.ISO WZT2MSDN_WIN8ENT64.xdelta en_windows_8_enterprise_x64_dvd_917522.ISO
Very interesting. OK, now, who's interested enough to break open both wims and really see what changed?
What does this do? Will this ACTUALLY convert to MSDN version or just changes SHA1 to bring a sense of false satisfaction?
somebody need to do some serious research ... but in the meantime i think its enough to tell you it will actually convert wzr iso to msdn
So it just changes the SHA-1 to bring a false satisfaction among the users. I really don not think it converts or does it ?
EULA us still missing even after conversion. Anyway, I will download the real deal to find out later.
exactly! and the differences are really few which proves wzr image is completely genuine ... actually i dont think there is need to convert but it wont harm anyway
Hi, Eh, basically yes. And the exact difference (in bytes) between the two ISOs can be found on post #5. I think this difference might be something like a "fingerprint" since it is present on other editions of Windows 8 from WZOR. You actually don't even need to use XDELTA in this particular case. Just replace those 32-byte sequence as instructed on post #5. LNW
Then why are the EULA changes missing in the converted ISO? I see a user not being able to see them. (gnugeek) M$ has significantly changed them to more of a Q&A thingy. Also replacing a few bits/bytes doesn't necessarily bring in those 1's & 0's from the actual MSDN ISO now does it?
