So I'm faced with a unique problem. I ended up with a few viruses on my computer. I ran my anti Virus program and it got rid of the viruses and rebooted my computer. When my comp booted up I got as far as the click this icon to log in ( user screen ) but now it's telling me Windows needs to be activated in order to log in and asks me for my CD key. Ummmm... I don't have it anymore... I called Microsoft and they won't help me because I cannot prove I have a legit copy. I cannot log in at all without a key... Is there ANY way to get around this? I'm not incredibly computer savy but I know basics.... please help? I use Windows XP
It's a separate disk. Thing is would this work without being able to access windows itself? The thread is a little confusing to me.
