Hi all. Question regarding XP and a common updated display driver. Just lately I have found my self installing XP onto some older PC's. The disc I use is XP Pro SP3 Retail. This disc works fine but I always have to run the updates and it takes for ever. So I have made myself a up to date disc,I manually downloaded all the M.Soft update files and intergrated them using Nlite. Also added Sil 3132 sata drivers and WMP 11. The problem I am getting is with the unmoddified retail disc after the install XP looks how it should with the "telly Tubby" desktop. After I install the updated version all I get is the grey looking XP. I know this is a driver issue but why should it look worse after the updates are intergrated . I dont want to make a specific disc for a specific board or graphics card, just a general disc where drivers can be manually applied after install. Hope that makes sence. Is there a common display driver update, like what must be in the Windows 7 disc.
Urie That was blinding mate... Just made a disc with all the update packs....Worked well but needs a tweek or two... Thanks very much
