I am a very happy & determined XP user - and since youtube is so pesty about tracking & flash player updates I use MPC-HC for watching streams from there & other places.

    It is mostly OK.
After I use it some random number of times though, quite often it is not OK anymore & actually locks up my OS & system, forcing a reboot.

Nothing else that I use does this, ever.

    My question:
Is there another good, light media player that is amenable to streaming - especially one which will take URLs directly without fuss, bother OR requiring frequent (irritating...) codec updates ??

BTW - I also use a great little tray app called SVPtube which just takes a (copied/clipboard) YT URL & sends it as an MP4 stream to my player of choice.

It works really well & I highly recommend it too.

    Thanks.
