i have the strangest issue and im failing to spot the issue. (tried memory change and no go) i suspect its CPU or motherboard as i have tried pci video card and no good. but the strangest thing.. win7 works fine!! its only xp based os that wont show vid past the safemode screen. (was working fine for 1 yr) nor hirens nor ubcd4win.. tried resetting bios and no change. linux boots fine also. im going to try reflashing bios as i suspect its a videorom corruption on bios due to lightning strikes nearby. also im goign to try taking cmos battery out and resetting bios completely. UPDATE: not cpu or bios so it must be something on the board.. its just strange xp worked for a yr then now no video only green light.. same hdd has partition with 7 and that boots. removed hdd and dvd and tried booting usb hirens.. no go still.
