Thanks but how about the string in BIOS. 911medic told me that the tab, "SLP1.0" of SLIC Toolkit is not useful to detect the SLP string, is it? How can I type the string inside it. Please help...
I have used oembios.exe before (as I said in the other post) Done, DMI booted, 4 (exit to DOS prompt), entered "dmi /sm "ASUS_FLASH" " Reboot, 1, then 1 to view: note: P4I45Gx_FE or P4I45Gx_PE
Really? +1 to reputation Great, so does it mean that if I make my own ASUS OEM disk, I don't have to enter a key after installation (i don't mean the key during install, but after) and it would be activated?
Ya I know it I will erase it later... But tell me plz which key I should use in the OEM disk... ASUS PRO key or the one I am using NOW? I mean if I use the M$ VLK I should have to change it after installation, right? Just want to make the installing easier and finally activated with the ASUS SLP key.
lol I get more confused after reading the information in the link... How are COA and OEM SLP key related... Is it both COA or OEM SLP key can activated a XP computer which is OEM branded?
did you read the article You don't have COA Key also you are using OEM SLP method with oembios files when windows xp loads it will be Preactivated if you use winnt.sif and SETUPP.INI and oembios files and ASUS_FLASH in DMI area.
Have a problem replacing those files in the retail disk. I use PowerISO Lower case files can exist with upper case files together. Replace failure, problem solved after renaming all required files with upper case. To conclude, what make a RETAIL disk to become a branded OEM disk is : copy SEVEN files ONLY in upper case and replace those original: Code: PIDGEN.DLL SETUPP.INI WINNT.SIF (optional actually ; additional, not replacing as there's no original in Retail) OEMBIOS.BI_ OEMBIOS.CA_ OEMBIOS.DA_ OEMBIOS.SI_ SETUPREG.HIV not needed, right? DPCDLL.DLL probably not needed. Am I correct at all? No files missing?
@ Blackranger for the last time ADD WINNT.SIF file or you will need to type key in everytime you install it just because it wasn't on the retail cd you are altering doesn't mean you don't need to add it.
